Accessibility Improvements:
Chicago Public Schools ADA Survey

AltusWorks is surveying accessibility barriers and designing ADA-compliant solutions as part of a Chicago Public Schools program to identify levels of accessibility at Charter and Contract schools. The program will address 60 facilities over the next four years. AltusWorks is providing recommendations for physical and programmatic alterations as well as preparing schematic design documents for certain schools that are eligible for a grant program which will provide funding for the needed improvements. In addition to creating digital access plans for each school, the firm is also developing a database which will provide the client with a comprehensive overview of the schools’ ADA compliance or accessibility barriers.
