Projects in Progress:
Edgebrook Elementary School Addition
Due to the firm’s ongoing success with Chicago Public Schools, in March 2009
the Public Building Commission of Chicago selected AltusWorks as one of
eleven architecture firms to provide professional services for major renovations
and additions for the agency’s growing list of K-12 education facility projects.
In April 2009, the PBC awarded AltusWorks the Architect of Record contract for
the implementation of a non-prototypical 38,000 s.f. addition to an existing
30,000 s.f. neighborhood school. The LEED Silver addition includes 9 classrooms,
a science lab, offices, a dining facility, site improvements and sustainable
building systems including a green roof and photovoltaics for energy
generation. |
