East Park Tower
Designed by prominent Chicago architect William P. Doerr in 1922, East Park Tower is an apartment hotel listed on the National Register of Historic Places. However, alterations have occurred over time, including the removal of the original entrance. Through research of historic documents as well as on-site investigation, AltusWorks will assist the owner in returning the hotel to its original grandeur. Recommendations include re-creation of the historic entrance and lobby; period-sensitive design guidelines for the storefronts and retail spaces; renovation of the interior common areas; and exterior façade assessment and repairs. AltusWorks will prepare documents for these improvements which incorporate present day accessibility and code requirements within the historic aesthetic.
