Renovation and Restoration:
Humboldt Park Boathouse Pavilion

As Senior Associate at BauerLatoza Studio, AltusWorks Principal Ellen Stoner acted as Project Manager & Architect for the extensive rehabilitation of the landmark Humboldt Park Boathouse. Ms. Stoner guided the project from programming through construction administration, ensuring that the design and the work met the owner’s needs as well as the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation of historic structures. The project included adapting existing interior spaces for new uses; restoring the stucco walls, tile roof and historic windows; providing full accessibility and re-creating missing decorative architectural elements.  Landmarks Preservation Council of Illinois awarded the Boathouse Rehabilitation/Restoration Project of the Year in 2002.
