Renovation and Restoration:
University of Chicago Laboratories

The University of Chicago’s Department of Physical Sciences commissioned AltusWorks to provide design services for the renovation of existing research lab facilities to accommodate incoming researchers. At the Center for Integrated Sciences, a facility built in 2005, an existing lab will be modified to accommodate the use of highly precise lasers which require sensitive ventilation and heating systems. The project scope also includes remodeling of student offices. At the Hinds Building, constructed in 1969, AltusWorks will design and administrate the full renovation of two original lab spaces to accommodate optics and chemistry research.
