Ellen Stoner is featured on the discussion panel, Making the Transformation, at Illinois Real Estate Conference!

In late June, the Illinois Real Estate Journal held the Re-Positioning / Value Added Commercial Real Estate Conference featuring a panel of experts to discuss redevelopment trends in Chicago. As part of the Making the Transformation panel, Ellen Stoner contributed her knowledge and expertise in deferred tax credits for adaptive reuse of historic buildings to help guide developers through the often complicated process. Ellen Stoner newly inducted into Lambda Alpha!

At the formal ceremony in late June, Ellen Stoner was inducted into Lambda Alpha International. Lambda Alpha is an “honorary society for the advancement of land economics” that has been active for nearly 85 years. Membership to this prestigious society is by invitation only and Ellen was honored to be welcomed into the Chicago Ely Chapter “in recognition of her contribution to the practice of architecture with restoration, renovation and adaptive reuse of existing and historic structures in an effort to build communities and improve quality of life.” Read full entry »

Chicago TIFWorks grant supports AltusWorks’ investment in professional development and individual advancement

Located in the Portage Park TIF District, AltusWorks tapped the TIFWorks grant program administered by the City of Chicago’s Department of Planning and Development to refine our processes and elevate our client satisfaction.  In April, AltusWorks completed a customized series of intense training modules on the latest version of AutoDesk’s Revit software.  Implementation of innovative best practice strategies facilitate the integration of younger staff into project delivery as they begin their architectural careers. 2003, the beginning of greatness

March 3rd, 2014 marks the eleventh year anniversary of AltusWorks.  Originally, work was done from an office in the basement of founding Principal, Ellen Stoner’s home.  The firm moved to its present location at 4224 N. Milwaukee early in 2005.  Scott Utter, pictured here, now an Associate, has helped Ellen grow the firm to a staff of 11.  AltusWorks continues to be awarded larger and more intriguing projects by an increasingly diverse client base.  Thank you to all of our clients, consultants and vendors for the support.  Read full entry »

AltusWorks Q1 2012

AltusWorks is pleased to announce our updated and streamlined web site. As 2012 moves into the second quarter, we are seeing several school and restoration projects reach completion along with the renovation of AltusWorks’ two-story neighborhood commercial office building this past fall!
