AltusWorks recognized for innovative preservation

We at AltusWorks are passionate about integrity in restoration. Recently, our very own Ellen Stoner and Scott Utter were honored to be awarded with the 2014 City of Evanston Preservation and Design Award in their work to sensitively incorporate a passive geothermal system into the Dawes House. According to one juror, “…the applicant could have made a lot of mistakes in this ambitious installation of a geothermal system into a National Historic Landmark but they didn’t. The work is nearly indiscernible on the interior and exterior of the Dawes House.”

Special thanks to the fellow award recipients Phil Robertson of Bulley & Andrews Masonry Restoration, Mark Nussbaum of ACE and Kris Hartzell of the Evanston History Center for working with us on this wonderful project!
