Nat King Cole Stood Here!

As part of an Association for Preservation Technology Western Great Lakes Chapter community service project, Scott Utter of AltusWorks spent the day mentoring fifteen School of the Art Institute historic preservation graduate students on the art of performing a condition assessment.  Their focus was a portion of a long vacant and significantly deteriorated early ballroom known as The Forum. Located in Chicago’s Bronzeville neighborhood, this venue was a prestigious stop on the road for traveling jazz and blues musicians such as Nat King Cole.
