Dana Thomas House

This famous home designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1902 and located in Springfield, Illinois is a National Historic Landmark. The home exerts a high level of craftsmanship and is considered the most complete of Frank Lloyd Wright’s early Prairie houses. The Coach House is a two-story brick building built in 1904 that exhibits the same level of detail and craftsmanship on the exterior as found in the house. The Dana-Thomas House Foundation was formed in 1983 to support the historic site, which currently operates as a house museum. The Coach House was converted to a visitor’s center and offices during the extensive 1986 restoration.

The Capital Development Board awarded AltusWorks the Dana-Thomas Coach House HVAC system upgrade project which began in the Spring of 2014. The main scope of work focused on upgrading the central HVAC equipment. In addition, the main house’s entry hall Moon Children fountain will be restored and water infiltration at and around the billiard’s room skylight will be rectified.
